Abstract

Roman Patroni and tabulae patronatus in the regio IV

In the present paper the Author examines the epigraphic documentation
concerning the tabulae patronatus and the patrons of the cities of the regio
IV, from the last years of the 1st century B.C. to the 4th A.D. The focus is
on the social status of the patrons. Furthermore, the reasons that led the
cities of the regio IV to grant patronage, are investigated and discussed.
