Abstract

The article concerns the definition of the chronology of the texts from Tell Mohammed, a site next to Tell Harmal, today in Baghdad’s suburbs (Iraq). The philological analysis of these documents and of the other data at our disposal (the stratigraphy of the tell, the pottery, the calendar in use at Tell Mohammed and the date formulas present in the texts), suggest the last part of the First Dynasty of Babylon (Ammi‡aduqa) as a possible chronological frame for the texts and for the most important
individuals there mentioned (Šiptaulzi and ®urduzum).
