Una vicenda istituzionale: il caso di Aceruntia

Abstract

An institutional evolution: the case of Aceruntia.

In this paper two latin inscriptions of Aceruntia, a city on the limit between
Apulia and Lucania, are analysed. In one inscription there is a
reference to quattuorviri, in the other to duoviri. In this paper the author
suggests a possible explanation for this institutional change which occurred
between 1st B.C. and 1st A.D.
