Abstract

The Western stoa of the agora of Iasos in the Roman period
The excavations in the Western stoa of the agora of Iasos (althoughstill partial) allow us to reconstruct the development of the complexbetween the fourth century BC and the Roman imperial age. The squarewas surrounded by buildings on three sides (North, East, South); on theWest side, it was bounded by the city wall with the big isthmus gate. The complex reached its final architectural layout between the Augustanperiod and the second century AD.fede.berti@alice.it
