Abstract

Aristotle's Vita Hesychii or Vita Menagiana, belonged to the Onomatologos of Hesychius of Miletus (6th Cent.), a history of literature limited to the pagan authors and lost as a whole. This paper proposes a new edition of this short text, whose importance for the reconstruction of the biography of Aristotle and the list of its works is undeniable. Acatalogue of the manuscripts of Vita Hesychii is here presented, followed by an analysis of the relations between the manuscripts and a stemma. The new edition of the text is accompanied by a critical apparatus.
