Abstract
The cuckoo and an old ladies’ man: Plaut., Asin. 923The habit of the gowk of laying its eggs in the nest of others birds providesan opportunity, in a passage of Plautus, to move against an old philanderer, who makes a flirt in home of a meretrix, instead of staying with his elderlywife.
