Abstract

With reference to the 'very great hair' of the millet (praegrandibus comis), the Author proposes in this paper to emend lobas vocant of Pliny, Naturalis Historia XVIII, 55 into lophas vocant (from gr. lovfh, a variant of lovfo", 'panache').
